Hi everybody! Hi Dr. Nick! Sep. 10th, 2005 @ 02:43 am
Greetings readers.
My name is Ómra Ní Rosach, and this is my virgin venture into the world of journaling. I'm 20 years old and I live in the American Midwest. I play and teach traditional Irish music for a living. Music isn't necessarily the easiest way to make money, but it must be one of the more...ahem...interesting. In my 11 years of performing, I've dealt with more weird crap than most zoo cage cleaners can even imagine. The 'weird crap' incidents range from getting instruments stolen by cross-dressers in rural Nebraska to being accosted by Japanese reporters asking for interviews about seals. Truthfully, many were very stressful or aggravating at the time, but now I can see the humour in them. Over the past few years, I have imparted to audiences many of the more amusing episodes. People seem to be entertained by our wacky adventures, and it has often been requested that I put them in print. This is my reason for trying a journal.
The names have been changed to protect the incompetent, the insane, and the inane. I don’t recall any innocent individuals. I’m going to keep things as vague as possible, so as to avoid insult or lawsuits. Also, I’m not a particularly good writer, so you’ll have to bear with me. That said, I hope you enjoy these accounts of odditude.

Le meas,
Ómra
